On Saturday, March 29, a small piece of solid material was found in the Butter Chicken Curry served at CURRY UP in Harajuku. We would like to sincerely apologize for the concern and inconvenience caused.
Immediately after the incident, we reported it to the local health authorities and conducted an investigation with a third-party inspection agency. The object was identified as a plastic fragment commonly used in food containers, toys, or medical supplies. The results confirmed that the material poses extremely low risk to human health. To date, no health issues have been reported.
We take this matter very seriously. In response, we have implemented a range of measures to prevent recurrence, including stricter hygiene management protocols, enhanced staff training, updated inspection procedures, and improvements and repairs to our store facilities. Moving forward, we will continue to strengthen our quality control efforts.
